At Caribbean Medical University we know that earning your MD is one of the biggest investments you will ever make. That is why our tuition structure has been designed in a “student friendly” way – to make the dream of a medical career affordable to every student interested in studying medicine.
Below you will find a clear, trimester-by-trimester breakdown of the estimated cost of attendance for our Pre-Medical program and the four-year MD program (Basic Science in Curaçao and Clinical Science in the USA), including tuition, fees, housing, meals and other expenses. These figures are guidelines only – your actual cost depends on your start term, housing and meal plan choices, clinical rotation sites and personal lifestyle.

- One-time fees. A non-refundable $1,000 enrollment reservation fee is due by the date in your acceptance letter and is applied to your first tuition invoice.
- Per trimester (4 months). Includes water, electricity, A/C, internet, Direct TV and school bus transportation to and from campus.
- Lunch and/or dinner at the on-campus student restaurant, Monday–Friday, for the duration of one trimester, excluding breaks and holidays.
- Estimated cost of one round trip per academic year; actual fares vary by departure city.
MD – Basic Science
MD1–MD5. Five 16-week trimesters of basic medical sciences in Curaçao, concluding with the Comprehensive Basic Science Examination (CBSE).

MD6–MD11. 48 weeks of core and 24 weeks of elective rotations at ACGME-accredited Clinical Medicine Centers in the USA.

- Mandatory for all Clinical Science students. Students with a past due balance are not covered by the insurance plan.
- Mandatory whether or not the student participates in the graduation ceremony. Includes one diploma; non-refundable.
- Based on an average rent of $900 per month, utilities not included. Living costs vary by rotation site – we recommend budgeting $600–$1,000 per month for food, transportation and personal expenses.
