Standard Procedures of Clinical Rotations at the CMU SOM

Outline of the standard procedures of Clinical Rotations at the CMU SOM (per the Clinical Rotations Handbook).

General information concerning the Clinical Rotations can be obtained from the Clinical Rotations Coordinator at the CMU Campus in Willemstad, Curacao (rotations@cmumed.org) (see CMC).

Information concerning the specific rotations, clinical research, or Centers can be obtained from the respective Clinical Medicine Centers Directors.(see CMC).

Eligibility of the students to start the Clinical Rotations at the CMU SOM CMC is determined exclusively by the Faculty Clinical Rotations Committee (FCRC) upon receiving all the documents (RFR@cmumed.org) (see Eligibility).

Starting each and every rotations has to be first approved by the FCRC with the message conveyed to the CRC at the CMU Campus and the student, recorded in the student’s record by the CRC, and confirmed by email sent by the CRC simultaneously to the student and the CMC.

Completion of each and every CR requires: the Evaluation and Logbook signed and submitted by the Preceptor directly to the CRC, passing the National Board of Medical Examiners’ Clinical Subject Shelf Exam, and completion of the survey.

No exceptions!

    • BS Graduation
    • NBME CBSE passed
    • USMLE Step 1 passed
  • Finances
    • No debt
  • Documents
  • Procedure
    • Email all documents to RFR@cmumed.org while indicating preferred CMU SOM Clinical Medicine Center (link) and start date

 

Eligibility to continue the Clinical Rotations:

  • Academics
    • All previous NBME CSSE passed
  • Finances
    • No debt
  • Documents
    • All documents required to start remain valid
  • Procedure
    • Email all documents to RFR@cmumed.org while indicating preferred CMU SOM Clinical Medicine Center (link) and start date
